Junior Varsity Softball Coach

The Park Rapids School District is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic individual to join our athletic program as a Junior Varsity Softball Coach for the upcoming season at Park Rapids High School. The ideal candidate will have a passion for the sport of softball, a commitment to developing young athletes, and the ability to foster a positive and competitive team environment. This is a seasonal position that requires effective communication, leadership skills, and a strong understanding of the game.

Responsibilities
- Plan and conduct daily practice sessions that focus on skill development, teamwork, and game strategies.
- Assist in the preparation of the team for competitions, including game strategy and player assignments.
- Promote good sportsmanship and positive behavior among players, coaches, and parents.
- Monitor and evaluate player performance, providing constructive feedback to help athletes improve.
- Collaborate with the head coach and other coaching staff to ensure alignment in coaching philosophy and objectives.
- Maintain accurate records of team attendance, player statistics, and other relevant information.
- Communicate effectively with players, parents, and school administration regarding team activities, schedules, and expectations.
- Ensure the safety and well-being of all team members during practices and games.
- Assist in organizing team events, including fundraising activities and community outreach.
- Uphold and enforce school policies and regulations regarding athletics.

Requirements
- Previous coaching experience in softball or a related sport is preferred but not required.
- Strong knowledge of softball rules, techniques, and strategies.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to motivate and inspire young athletes.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Availability to work evenings and weekends during the season.
- Current CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain).
- Background check clearance as required by school district policies.
