High School Assistant Girls Volleyball Coach
Penn Manor High School is seeking a passionate and dedicated Assistant Volleyball Coach to join our team for the 2026 season. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of volleyball fundamentals, a commitment to developing student-athletes, and the ability to work collaboratively with the Head Coach and school administration.
Responsibilities:
- Assist with Practice Planning and Execution:
- Collaborate with the Head Coach to develop and implement effective practice plans that focus on skill development, tactical understanding, and physical conditioning.
- Lead and instruct individual and group drills, providing constructive feedback to players.
- Assist in the setup and breakdown of practice equipment.
- Game Day Support:
- Assist the Head Coach with game strategy, player substitutions, and in-game adjustments.
- Provide sideline coaching and encouragement to players.
- Assist with game day logistics, including equipment management and player supervision.
- Player Development:
- Provide individualized coaching and mentoring to players of all skill levels.
- Foster a positive and supportive team environment that promotes sportsmanship, teamwork, and respect.
- Assist in evaluating player performance and identifying areas for improvement.
- Team Administration:
- Assist with equipment inventory and maintenance.
- Help maintain accurate player records and attendance.
- Communicate effectively with players, parents, and school administration.
- Adhere to all school and league rules and regulations.
- Safety and Supervision:
- Ensure the safety of all players during practices and games.
- Implement and enforce safety protocols and procedures.
- Be knowledgeable of and able to respond to injuries and emergencies.
Qualifications:
- Previous volleyball playing or coaching experience preferred.
- Strong knowledge of volleyball rules, strategies, and techniques.
- Ability to effectively communicate and motivate student-athletes.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a coaching team.
- Valid First Aid/CPR certification (or willingness to obtain).
- Successful completion of a background check and any required coaching certifications.
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- A passion for working with and developing young athletes.
