Position Summary:
The primary areas of responsibility for this position include oversight and operation of the Women’s Basketball Program including all aspects of coaching, recruiting, budgeting, scheduling, and fundraising. The coach is expected to manage the women’s intercollegiate basketball program in compliance with College and NCAA policies, incorporating Warren Wilson College's distinctive approach to education which intentionally integrates academics, work, and community engagement to cultivate curiosity, empathy, and integrity. Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university.
Two years of coaching or related experience, OR at least two years of playing collegiate basketball.
Demonstrated knowledge of collegiate basketball.
Proven ability to build relationships with prospective and current student-athletes, team-building skills focusing on communication and positive interactions.
Demonstrated working knowledge of NCAA rules and regulations.
Ability to effectively utilize Google Suite, recruiting platforms and student information systems.
Demonstrated ability to work with people from a diverse range of identities and experiences.
Current certification in first aid, cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR), and automatic external defibrillator (AED) use or ability to obtain certifications upon hire.
Valid driver’s license.
Preferred Qualifications
Master’s Degree in a related field.
Three to five years of coaching or related athletic experience, including program development, recruiting, compliance, and collegiate coaching.
Proven ability to recruit and coach student-athletes.
