Freshman Coach - Volleyball - Girls

Position Overview:
The Freshman Girls Volleyball Head Coach is responsible for leading and developing the freshman volleyball program, providing student-athletes with instruction in the fundamental skills, rules, and strategies of volleyball. The coach will promote teamwork, sportsmanship, and positive character while supporting the overall mission of the Danbury Public Schools athletic program. The position works collaboratively with the athletic director and the junior varsity and varsity coaching staff to help build a strong and consistent volleyball program.

Responsibilities:

• Plan and conduct practices and games for the freshman volleyball team
• Instruct student-athletes in the fundamentals, strategies, and rules of volleyball
• Promote sportsmanship, teamwork, and positive student development
• Ensure the safety and proper supervision of student-athletes at all times
• Work collaboratively with the athletic director and the junior varsity and varsity coaching staff
• Follow all school district, CIAC, and athletic department policies and procedures

Qualifications:

• Must possess Connecticut Teaching Certification with Coaching Permit (preferred) or Coaching Certification
• Must possess valid First Aid and CPR certification
• Must complete Module 15 � Concussion Management
• Knowledge of and/or experience in volleyball preferred

Working Conditions:

• Seasonal coaching position
• Up to 180 hours per season
• $17.85 per hour
