Commercial Director – (USA & Mexico)

TMJ seeks a results-driven professional to build a best-in-class sales team dedicated to generating long-term revenue by establishing high-impact partnerships for TMJ talent and TMJ Catalyst.

Department: Catalyst Business Unit (BU)

Reports to: Co-CEO

Location: Remote or major travel hub preferred

Key Responsibilities

  • Catalyst Business Unit Leadership: Oversee the team’s end-to-end lifecycle of partnerships—from overall strategy to execution: business development approach, goal-setting, lead generation, proposal development, negotiations, contract execution, activation, performance analysis, and long-term relationship management.
  • Direct Pipeline Growth: Effectively manage the full sales lifecycle, from prospecting and pitching to contract negotiation and post-activation upsells.
  • High-Impact B2B Sales: Drive revenue by identifying, pitching, and closing multi-year sponsorship and consulting agreements with decision makers at major brands in key international markets with priority in U.S. and Mexico.
  • Data + Compelling Storytelling: Weave important data points such as fan insights, ratings, growth trends with athletes and agency highlights into creating disruptive, high-value marketing programs.
  • Relationship Management: Act as the primary commercial point of contact for US-based leagues (NWSL), federations (USWNT), and brand partners.

Ideal Candidate Profile

A track record of 5–8 years of high-level sponsorship business development experience within sports, entertainment, or media who thrives in an entrepreneurial environment and excited by the growth of women’s sports.

  • Experience: 5–8 years of proven success in sponsorship sales, brand partnerships, or media rights.
  • Visionary Mindset: Ability to create and sell groundbreaking possibilities rather than traditional assets.
  • Established Network: Strong relationships with decision-makers in marketing, PR, and procurement departments across Mexico and/or United States.
  • Communication: Clear, compelling, and timely engagement with all stakeholders.
  • Cross-Functional Management: Ability to harmonize with various departments to achieve successful outcomes for our clients.
  • Languages: Professional fluency in both English and Spanish.
  • Soft Skills: Enjoys the fast-pace, fearless negotiator, resilient under pressure, organized, who believes in the groundbreaking nature of women's football.
