Job Description
Title: Assistant Softball Coach Department: Athletics Category: Part-time, non-exempt, stipend Summary/Objective The assistant softball coach will support the head coach in recruitment, management, training and coaching of the softball team. Essential Functions: Support goals and objectives of the Athletics Program. Assist the Head Coach with organization of team equipment, practices, recruitment, team travel, fundraising, and any other area of responsibility as directed by the Head Coach or Director of Athletics. Work cooperatively and responsibly with other departmental personnel. Support the student-athlete concept and demonstrate concern for the health, safety, and welfare of each student-athlete. Coordinate practice, film, or training sessions with specific positional groups, redshirt players, or scout players, as assigned. Assist with student-athlete recruitment, campus visits, prospect camps, and scouting. Additional duties as assigned Competencies Ethical Conduct. Stress Management/Composure. Teamwork Orientation. Thoroughness. Supervisory Responsibility This position has no supervisory responsibilities. Work Environment Normal office environment where there is no physical discomfort due to temperature, dust, noise and the like. Position Type/Expected Hours of Work This is a part-time, stipend position. Travel Recruiting and Game Competition will require travel.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree Prior coaching or competitive softball experience
