Summary
Jefferson West High School is seeking a dedicated and experienced individual to assist our softball program as an Asst Softball Coach for the upcoming season. The ideal candidate will possess a strong knowledge of the game, excellent leadership skills, and a passion for developing student-athletes both on and off the field. This seasonal position requires commitment to fostering a positive team environment and promoting the values of sportsmanship, teamwork, and discipline.

Responsibilities
- Assist in development and implementation a comprehensive softball program that emphasizes skill development, teamwork, and sportsmanship.
- Assist with daily practice sessions, ensuring that drills and activities are age-appropriate and effective.
- Assist with aspects of the softball program, including scheduling games, coordinating transportation, and overseeing team logistics.
- Evaluate student-athletes for the softball team, ensuring a commitment to academic and athletic excellence.
- Communicate regularly with players, parents, and school administration regarding team progress, expectations, and any concerns.
- Monitor and assess player performance, providing constructive feedback and support to help athletes improve their skills.
- Enforce team rules and policies, maintaining discipline and a positive team culture.
- Collaborate with other coaches and staff to promote the overall athletic program at Jefferson West High School.
- Attend all games and practices, providing guidance and support to players during competition.
- Ensure compliance with all district, state, and national regulations and guidelines related to high school athletics.

Requirements
- Previous coaching experience in softball, preferably at the high school level or higher.
- Strong knowledge of softball fundamentals, strategies, and rules.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire student-athletes.
- Ability to work effectively with a diverse group of students and parents.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Current CPR and First Aid certification (or ability to obtain prior to the start of the season).
- Must pass a background check as required by school district policies.
- Availability to work evenings or after school hours.
