Job Overview

The Assistant Equipment Manager will support the Head Equipment Manager in all aspects of equipment and apparel management for the team. This role is crucial for ensuring that players, coaches, and staff have the necessary gear for practices, games, and travel. The ideal candidate is highly organized, proactive, and capable of handling various logistical and administrative tasks.

Key Responsibilities

  • Inventory & Distribution: Manage the team's inventory of uniforms, practice gear, and other equipment. Assist with the distribution of all apparel and equipment to players and coaches.
  • Practice & Game Day Operations: Set up and break down all equipment for daily practices and games. This includes preparing the court, benches, and locker rooms.
  • Laundry Services: Oversee and execute daily laundry operations for all player and coach apparel, ensuring items are clean and ready for use.
  • Dress Code & Compliance: Work with players and coaches to ensure strict adherence to the team and league dress codes.
  • Team Support: Provide equipment support to officials and team attendants during games.
  • Partnership Coordination: Assist in the management of equipment and apparel partnerships, including those with Under Armour, Body Armour, Wilson, and Realist.
  • Administrative & Logistics: Handle administrative tasks such as processing waivers, assisting with expense reports for the equipment department, and managing the team's snack inventory.
  • Customization: Coordinate the post-embellishment process for uniforms and other gear, including adding names, numbers, and logos.

Qualifications

  • Previous experience in equipment management for a sports team is highly preferred.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to lift and move heavy equipment.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Knowledge of athletic equipment and apparel.
  • Flexibility to work non-traditional hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
