Position Summary

Waseca Public Schools is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic individual to serve as the 7th Grade Girls Volleyball Coach. The successful candidate will provide leadership for the middle school volleyball program while fostering a positive, inclusive, and educational environment for student-athletes. This position is responsible for teaching the fundamental skills of volleyball, promoting teamwork and sportsmanship, and helping student-athletes develop both on and off the court.

The coach will work collaboratively with the entire Waseca volleyball coaching staff to ensure continuity throughout the program and to prepare student-athletes for future success within Bluejay Volleyball.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Plan, organize, and supervise daily practices and competitions.
• Teach and reinforce volleyball fundamentals, game strategy, and sportsmanship.
• Create a positive, safe, and supportive environment for all student-athletes.
• Promote academic achievement, character development, and responsible citizenship.
• Communicate effectively with student-athletes, parents/guardians, coaching staff, and school personnel.
• Maintain appropriate supervision of student-athletes during practices, contests, and team activities.
• Assist in the care, inventory, and security of equipment and uniforms.
• Work collaboratively with the head coach and coaching staff to support program goals and athlete development.
• Follow all Waseca Public Schools policies and procedures and comply with all Minnesota State High School League (MSHSL) rules and regulations.
• Complete all required district hiring requirements and coaching certifications.

Qualifications

• Previous volleyball coaching and/or playing experience is preferred.
• Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills.
• Ability to build positive relationships with student-athletes, families, staff, and the community.
• Demonstrated commitment to educational athletics and student development.
• Must meet all district employment requirements and MSHSL coaching certification requirements.

Compensation

Stipend position per district salary schedule.
